The Costa del Sol, steeped in history and folklore and famous for its hot climate and endless stretch of beaches,
has been a popular tourist destination since the 1960's.
Its set in the south of spain and is surrounded by mountains that run paralell to the coast,that
gives it a pleasant warm atmosphere.
Also known as 'Costa del Golf' because of the popularity of golf and a large selection of golf courses,
the Costa del Sol is also famous for the many celebrities that either visit or own property here,
especially Marbella where a stroll along the harbour will result in bumping into a few famous people.
There is also plenty to see and do here, from visiting some of the rural villages to trekking along the mountains,
life is never dull on the coast.
Food and eating out is made easy by the costa del sol. You will find a wide variety of restuarants, tapas bars
and hotels along the coast that cater to suit all tastes and eating out is particularly cheap aswell.
